Google Launches the Google Maps Gallery

Google has launched the Google Maps Gallery, which enables organizations to share and publish their data on a map to discovered by people using Google Maps, Google Earth and search engines.In other words the Google Maps Gallery helps to “unlock the world’s maps”.Maps Gallery works like an interactive, digital atlas where you can find historic city plans, climate trends, deforestation changes and up-to-date evacuation routes.

Google Maps product manager Jordan Breckenridge said, "As the Gallery grows, it'll be easier to find out where we've been, where we are, and where we're going, giving us a new way to look at the world around us."

The Google Maps Gallery includes several maps, they are National Geographic Society,World Bank Group, United States Geological Survey, Florida Emergency Management agency, and City of Edmonton and many more.

With the Google Maps Gallery, governments, nonprofits and businesses can publish maps and manage their content with personal sitting that enable control over maps branding, styling and licensing.Organizations can apply to submit their request to join the Map Gallery.The gallery can browse at: http://maps.google.com/gallery/.

Google Doodle And Quote Against Anti-gay Law And Propaganda

The 2014 Winter Olympics opening ceremony which took place at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia, on 7 February 2014.Google takes a decision for athletes, gay, with it's new doodle search engine.

Yesterday Google posted Google Doodle, for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics that starts on friday night. The logo shows the colors of the Rainbow Flag, flags and banners used to describe lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and under logo displays a quotation:-

"The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play." –Olympic Charter

This Olympic Charter quotation is the fourth "Fundamental Principle of Olympism" out of seven.

The Google doodle includes different winter sports that are, from left to right such as skiing, snowboarding, curling, ice hockey, bobsledding and skating.

The Google doodle is reportedly a reaction to Russian anti-gay law and propaganda, which bans providing information on homosexuality to under 18.

The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon joined the LGBT community and in a speech to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on Thursday, he spoke out against attacks on the LGBT community and criticised attacks on lesbian, gay and bisexual.”

First time Russia has hosted a Winter Olympics Games and many leaders including President Barack Obama have not visited the country.

The 2014 Winter Olympics Games is considered to be the most expensive costing $50 billion.

Google Glass at a hackathon this month

Google is now wooing developers to create and market purpose-built apps for Google Glass.The Verge reports that Google has invited developers in San Francisco,where the company will showcase its Glassware Development Kit.

Google is currently working on a new version of Glass with improved hardware.It will available on November 19. 

Google is speeding up its efforts to make Google Glass available to the wider public.
