Tesla Introduced New Model S 70D With All-Wheel Drive

Tesla has announced the new Model S 70D is an all- wheel drive electric sedan with a 70 kilowatt hour battery.Its name 70D indicates that the 70kWh bettery pack and the D means its dual motors.This car costs $75,000 a car and the new Model S 70D can be ordered online via the Tesla Motors website.The car can accelerate 0 to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds.

The Model S 70D produces 329 horsepower and get 60 mph in 5.2 seconds.It gains a top speed of 140 miles per hour and can travel 240 miles at 65 mph.It is available in new three different colours that are Ocean Blue, Obsidian Black and Warm Silver.It comes with various features such as navigation system, autopilot hardware for self-driving, maps and blind spot detection.It also includes safety features, automatic brake in emergency, parking sensors.

It will also receive free software updates over the air which add some new features and functionality.The company said, "when the software updates are available, user will be notified to install or remind me later.The average updates could takes 45 minutes to install.

The new Model S 70D is $5,000 expensive than 60 model with 60 kilowatt hour battery, which range 208 miles.It cames without dual motor all wheel drive system.

Toyota Unveiled 3 Wheel i-Road Car At TED

At the TED Conference, Steve Gundrum was smiling when he came out of a Toyota environment friendly electric car (zippy scooter).Gundrum drove i-ROAD prototype "personal mobility vehicles'' in the Vancouver centre during TED conference.

Toyota brought the prototypes to TED to find out how the gathering's attendees see the future of mobility, said Jason Schulz of Toyota Motor Sales USA. 

The i-Road's steering unconditionally connected with its single rear tire.It is a two seater electric vehicle.It weighs approximately 300 Kilograms (660 pound).The i-Road gains a top speed of 56 kilometers per hour and can run approx 48 kilometers with full charged battery.It takes three hours to recharge.It contains sensors and gyroscopes for balancing the three wheels which support on sharp turns.The i-Road could be used for short trips like moving to markets and getting to train stations.

"Look at San Francisco or Manhattan where parking is so constrained," Schulz said."You could get around with this and then park a couple of them in the same space as a typical car today."

"In the 20 years I've been in the car business, this is the most fun, interesting ride dynamic I've ever had because of the rear-steer and the active lean system," Schulz said."It is just a total blast to drive. We have seen so many 'Tedsters' come out of the car smiling and happy."

Fuel Cell Car that Emit nothing harmful than Water

Akio Toyoda president of Toyota has told that Toyota is making hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.The japanese automaker has goal to manufacture 700 Mirai sedan that is powered by hydrogen and emits only water vapour from exhaust pipe.The company has plan to produce 2,000cars in 2016 and about 3,000 cars in 2017.In japanese meaning of this car name (Mirai) is "future".

The Mirai can go 650 kilometres with single time fueling that is three times more than an electric car.It takes a few minutes to refuel.Toyoda president of Toyota, told reporters last month when he presented a Mirai to the prime minister's office, "We are thrilled to think that before everyone else, we are taking a historic step toward the establishment of a hydrogen society in Japan."

Fuel cell technology is a environment friendly technique in the field of green cars as they are powered by a chemical reaction of oxygen and hydrogen, and exhaust nothing harmful except water.It is reported that the country's seven major makers have plan to invest $24 billion in this field to research the sector.

Volvo Will Put Autopilot Cars On The Road Soon

Volvo a Swedish auto maker has announced that it will put 100 self-driving cars on the road in the Swedish city of Gothenburg in 2017."Volvo Cars has designed a complete production-viable autonomous driving system," Peter Mertens, head of Volvo's research and development said in a statement.Autopilot car systems use an array of sensors to take three dimensional pictures of the surroudings.Cameras and radars help the vehicle to understand traffic signals and other conditions of road.A laser scanner for the detections of objects in front of the car.A 3-D map which provides information about road.It is using Ultrasonic sensors, cloud-based positioning systems and intelligent braking and steering technologies."

"We are entering uncharted territory in the field of autonomous driving," Peter Mertens.The Swedish car maker said this vehicle come with backup setups that will allow to work safely if some of their parts stop working.It also said that in case of an emergency the new car would react faster than humans.

"Making this complex system 99 percent reliable is not good enough. You need to get much closer to 100 percent before you can let self-driving cars mix with other road users in real-life traffic," said Erik Coelingh, a Volvo technical specialist.

In case of system failure or if the autopilot stops its work, the car will prompt the driver to take over.If the driver is unable to take control, the car will stop safely on the side of the road.

Apple Is Working On Secrot Project To Manufacture An icar

The Wall Street Jouranal has revealed a report that Apple is working on a new project that is creating an icar.The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple has hired hundreds of people to work secretly on development of electric car which named "Titan".It is look like a minivan according to the Wall Street Jouranal.

The WSJ said, "this project has approved by Apple CEO Cook Tim a year ago. Steve Zadesky, Apple VP of Product Design and former Ford engineer leading this group.Steve Zadesky has allowed to create a 1000 person team and poach employees from different parts of the company."

Apple has cleared that Marc Newson is included in that group.Newson is a designer who designed a car for Ford.

The Financial Times reported that Apple has also included president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Research and Development Johann Jungwirth, to work at a project in research lab.

The WSJ said that Apple does not have any experience creating vehicle yet but it says some experience people are connected with this porject that's mean it is serious.

The American sports car unofficially gained the title of world's fastest production car, it's Hennessey Venom GT car has set the new record fastest car in the world with reaching a top speed of 270.49 mph (436 km/h) at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.The Venom GT has powered by a 7.0-litre twin-turbo, V8 engine with a horsepower of 1,244 bhp, gain a top speed of 270.49 mph and this Venom GT costs $1.2 million a car.

“The Venom GT reached a maximum speed of 270.49 mph as measured by the world-renowned maker of VBOX 3i GPS data-acquisition systems,” said Racelogic engineer Joe Lachovsky.

The Guinness Book of World Records has not certified the Venom GT as “the fastest production car.”For the new record to stand, it has to be ratified by Guinness. So, the car needs to complete two runs in two directions with the average speed to break previous record.The Venom completed one run because NASA allowed to use its 3.2-mile space shuttle landing runway for only one run to complete.The world record is currently held by the Bugatti Veyron which reached top speed of 435 km/h in 2010

Wanxiang Has Won a Fisker Bankruptcy Auction With $149 Million Bid

Wanxiang Group, China's auto parts maker group, has won a bankruptcy auction for the assets of Fisker Automotive with a bid of more than $149 million.
Wanxiang beat out Hybrid Technology, led by Hong Kong billionaire Richard Li, with a bid of $149.2 million in cash, including Fisker's plant in Wilmington, Delaware.

People who participated in the auction said that Wanxiang's bid, which includes more than $100 million in cash, beat out Hybrid Technology.The auction, which began on Wednesday and ended on Friday, Hybrid had offered $30 million in cash and cancellation of $25 million in debt it says it is owed as Fisker's senior secured lender.



Wanxiang had offered $35.7 million in cash and an equity stake for creditors in a reorganized Fisker, with the possibility of additional recoveries for creditors through lawsuits.

Hybrid statement:-

"After actively bidding in the auction, Hybrid has elected to retain its rights as a lender rather than continue to bid for ownership of Fisker.

Hybrid acquired the Department of Energy’s secured loan of US$168 million in November 2013, and is the senior secured creditor of Fisker. After repayment of its debtor-in-possession financing and certain other costs incurred as part of the bankruptcy proceedings, Hybrid is entitled to be repaid ahead of the unsecured creditors on account of its security and, in relation to any assets that are ultimately determined to be unencumbered, will share in those assets together with all other creditors.

Hybrid will consider taking all necessary steps and appropriate measures to protect its interests in this matter, and remains committed to exploring other long term investment opportunities in the United States."

Mitsubishi Canada has released teaser images of a Mirage sedan of the 2014 Montreal Auto Show, which has its press day January 16 which popped up on the Mirage Forum.
